Volunteers filling this position will assist with the myriad programs offered at Central Library. You will operate in a supportive capacity to the organizer of the event and execute tasks to facilitate the program and enhance the participant and visitor experience.
Frequency and Duration of Position: Special Event Docents will be able to choose from a wide variety of events and volunteer opportunities throughout the year.
Special Skills Needed: Ability to follow instructions. Skill in organizing people, places, and things. A high level of comfort interacting with individuals and groups while maintaining a friendly and welcoming demeanor.
Physical Requirements: There will be events that have little or no requirement, while others may require light physical activity. A common task with many events is assisting visitors with wayfinding, which requires a fair amount of standing and walking.
Technology Requirements: Basic skill or knowledge may at times be helpful, but necessarily a requirement.
