Hotspots & Chromebooks

 

The St. Louis Public Library can help! Check out a Hotspot or Chromebook, or get a bundle and have both, for free.

What is a Hotspot?

A Hotspot is a device you can use to connect your laptop, smartphone, or tablet to the internet. Hotspots are portable. Access the internet wherever you are, at home, in the park, or on the bus.

What is a Chromebook?

A Chromebook is a laptop that does not run Windows, instead, it uses the Chrome Operating System, which is similar to the Google Chrome browser. Use a Chrome- book to do anything you regularly would online!

An SLPL Hotspot can connect up to 15 devices at a time. Hotspots and Chromebooks can be checked out for 21 days and can be renewed if there are no holds. Hotspots and Chromebooks may be checked out by any customer with internet privileges.

Borrowers must abide by the policies of the St. Louis Public Library, including the Library Technology Acceptable Use Policy., opens a new window Hotspots and Chromebooks will be permanently disabled and rendered useless if not returned by the due date. Borrowers will accept full financial responsibility for a lost, stolen, or damaged device. Failure to return the device will result in a full replacement charge.
