The collection contains the bound manuscript handwritten by Elihu Hotchkiss Shepard entitled “History of St. Louis and Missouri.” The history narrative spans the years 1843-1859. Mr. Shepard published several history books about St. Louis and was a professor of languages at St. Louis College.
