The collection contains a prompt book for the play “The Chocolate Soldier.” The book was owned by Harry Davies of the Davies Opera Company in St. Louis. Born in Wales in October 1865, Davies was a tenor who toured with various Welsh opera groups before coming to the US in 1890. He became a renowned tenor in the US and opened his own opera company in St. Louis. He died in 1925 while on tour.
